KOF, ETH corporate panel
1. General information
Since 1996 there has been a corporate panel at the KOF Swiss Economic Institute (KOF) that is based on a sample of some 6500 companies (with a minimum of five employees) taken from the business census. The sample, which covers manufacturing, construction as well as the commercial section of the services sector, is broken down by sector and size categories specific to each sector and is adjusted after each successive business census.
With the KOF, ETH corporate panel, data surveys are regularly taken on innovation activities (every third year) and on investment planning (annually). In addition, at irregular intervals (about once a year) data are collected on the various aspects of structural change in the Swiss economy, up until now in particular on the use of information and communications technologies, on organisational change in businesses, on the qualifications of the workforce, on the internationalisation of the Swiss economy and on the founding of new companies.
Information on the individual surveys, the questionnaires they are based on as well as a report on the most important findings can be found via the links listed below in Section 2.
